Praying for our Community Leaders

This is an open invitation to join us as we pray for our city leaders.

On the south wall inside is a bunch of pictures of our city leaders: Mayor Neitzke, Alderpersons Linda Lubotsky, Tom Pietrowski, Karl Kastner, Pam Akers and Shirley Saryan. Perhaps not the best photos of all of these incredible people, but our youth pastor pasted them on the wall and we are going to have them there all through the month of July.

No, no, we are not praying TO them, but we are praying FOR them. I've met people that almost pray to our elected officials; these are the people that are counting on government to resolve all of their personal issues. This is not our deal. We are praying for these great city officials of ours, in order that God would give them even greater wisdom than they have already exhibited.

These are good people worthy of our support and certainly our prayer. We are also praying that Greenfield would know a greater sense of unity and team spirit than ever. This is so huge given the issues that are currently face our society. Finally, it is also the focus of our time spent petitioning to ask for guidance in our own lives as to how we might better serve the these public officials that have dedicated their lives to serving our city.

This is so important - that we don't elect our officials and then leave them on their own. We need to support them where we can, pray for them when we can (just about always) and let their example of public service inspire us to do some of the sam

1 Kings 3, a great King named Solomon humbly requests for Wisdom in order that He might serve well the people he's responsible for. There are plenty of historical examples of leaders that are given only to the arrogance of trusting no one but themselves only to prove what a shallow pool that is to draw from. We are blessed with leaders that are able to work and lead together and for that I am truly thankfu
