Greenfield Farmers Market Celebrating Halfway Point of Debut Season

The "Mid-Season Celebration" will feature a small expansion, giveaways and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Konkel Park on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Already blessed with several beautiful Sundays this summer, organizers of the Greenfield Farmers Market are hoping to take advantage of another one this weekend at Konkel Park.

The “Mid-Season Celebration,” to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25, marks the half-way mark through the market's first season.

It will feature a small expansion, a reusable shopping bag giveaway and multiple drawings for prizes donated by market vendors. Additionally, the celebration will host three ready-to-eat food vendors for more lunch and snack options: The National Café & Bakery, Double B’s BBQ and Flying Cow Pizza.

“The first half of the season has exceeded our expectations and we expect our residents to attend with the same level of interest and energy through October,” said Darren Rausch, Health Officer/Director. “Our community continues to provide positive feedback and we continually work to improve the market. Vendors are impressed with the turnout of a first year market, too.”

Each week, several thousand patrons walk the path at Konkel Park to buy fresh produce, specialty food items and local products. The market runs through October, which means it will be a great place to seasonal produce such as apples, pumpkins, Indian corn and more.
