Parks & Rec Department Participates in World-Record Swim Attempt

The department was part of the World's Largest Swimming Lesson on June 14, and may have helped set a world record.

The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department offers swim lessons throughout the summer, but none will come attached to a possible world record like last Thursday's did.

On June 14, the department participated in the World's Largest Swimming Lesson, a global effort aimed at raising awareness of the importance of swim safety. According to the WLSL's website, submissions continue to roll in and counters and still adding up participant totals.

WISN 12 reported that 15 children participated in Greenfield's free swim lesson that day at , contributing to WLSL's attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

The Park and Recreation Department's swim lessons at both Greenfield and Whitnall High School pools run through late August. Contact the department Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 414-329-5370, or stop in the office located in Rm. 200 of City Hall.
