Wisconsin State Fair Guide 2013

Patch has all the information you need for the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair, from admission prices to new food and entertainment.

The 2013 Wisconsin State Fair is upon us, bringing with it all the usual suspects — cream puffs, livestock and deep-fried everything on-a-stick.

Here is all the information you need to enjoy this year's fair.

Admission


Wisconsin State Fair tickets can be purchased at the West Allis ticket office, 7722 W. Greenfield Ave., during normal business hours or online. Prices are as follows:

  • Adults (12 and over): $10
  • Seniors (60 and over): $7
  • Military or veterans (with ID): $7
  • Youth (6-11): $6
  • Children (5 and under): Free

The fair runs from Aug. 1 - 11 at Wisconsin State Fair Park, 6040 S. 84th St., West Allis. The fair opens each day at 8 a.m., staying open until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, midnight on Friday and Saturday and 10 p.m. on the final Sunday.

Fair Food


The state fair is sporting 70 new food items this year, with 21 of them on-a-stick. You can now find things like gelato on-a-stick, BBQ pulled pastrami with zesty red cabbage slaw and the beer battered bacon wrapped cheddar hot dog on-a-stick.

This year's Wisconsin State Fair also features the first annual food competition, also known as the Sporkies. Each of the eight finalists will be tasted by a panel of judges during the fair, with awards in the Best Tasting, Most Creative and Grand Champion categories.
