CJ Lomas Golf Outing Slated for July 26

CJ Lomas of Greenfield struggled with his drug addiction before he died in March 2012.

The second annual CJ Lomas Recovery Foundation golf outing is just around the corner.

Like last year, the event will be held at Muskego Lakes Country Club, S100 W14020 Hwy 36, on Friday, July 26.

The event is an effort to raise money for individuals and families impacted by drug addictions. CJ Lomas of Greenfield struggled with his drug addiction before he died in March 2012.

“Our family and friends’ support is going strong and we have been very successful this past year in our efforts to provide guidance and support to the families and friends of addicts,” Charlie Lomas, CJ’s father, wrote in an email to Patch. “The problem has grown to epidemic proportions. In some Wisconsin counties this past year deaths related to drug overdoses exceeded the deaths resulting from car accidents.

“We are hoping to continue our efforts to provide the financial assistance and guidance to deserving families.”

Golf fees are $500 for a foursome, $125 for an individual and $35 for dinner only. The scramble shotgun start is slated for 11 a.m. with lunch provided after nine holes. Post-golf fun includes a silent auction, raffles and prices and dinner.
