Whitnall Middle School Students Earn Top Awards in Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety Contest

The Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety (WAFS) awarded two sixth-grade Whitnall Middle School students the grand prize and a second-place award in the WAFS annual “fire and burn prevention poster contest” in a ceremony at the school Feb. 13.

Grand prize-winner Lauren Ellison and second place-winner Lizzy Frank received their framed posters and a Kohl’s gift certificate for their statewide winning entries.

Sandra Sramek-Weyker and Dawn Hamill, both conscientious teachers regarding fire and burn safety, entered their classroom’s fire and burn prevention posters into the contest in October 2013.
