when our African Grey became ill and refused to eat, we had no idea where to turn. We were so happy that we had MECA to turn to, upon our arrival the staff immediately took action, keeping us informed of the next step, unfortunately the outcome for our poor little companion was not as we had hoped,we still felt that we did everything in our power to help him. We will always be grateful. Thank-you MECA for being there in our time of need.

In jan my dear buddy companion Shadow lost the battle to live due to a specific Rat posion.given in aug I saw who did it, he was rushed to the vet. They did pump his stomach. I found that signs dont show up for 4=5 weeks after they ingest poision. the wait began. In Oct he can down with the first signs of pancertisis due to the posion. the er vets did numerous test. he came back seeming to due well, in Jan 2013, shadow had a paralyzing of the hind quarters again to the er vet advised that there would be more painful and internal bleeding due to the posion. video avail on fb, Shadow was being strong for me yet i could hear hi cry in pain and his eyes were growing weary. As I spent the last 3 hrs with him the vet showed me the labs stated its the posion killing him, I gave the decision into greater hands, at 12:58p the vet said it had to be if we keep him going through this or release his soul to play for eternity. Decision made. I held him in my arms and as he was given the shot we spoke to shadow. let him know we were going home and did he see Delta his mate. see Chad his other buddy, as the last serum went into his body I said we're home now gets treats? He lay resting and calm. His soul was free. ever since then just once in awhile theres a sense that his mate seems to sense as she sniffs and stares at the breeze. Does she know what we dont? Pray for the right litagtion to be completed soon. <3
