I went to their pharmacy for a medication that I literally cannot function without. I dropped it off and asked they verify they have it in stock, they girl left and walked over to their stock then in a minute returned and said yes they have it. But when I can back three hours later I was told they do not have it but they never once did they ever tried to call me even once despite knowing I was coming back expecting it was available as they initially told me.
Worst part was since it was now past 9pm, all other pharmacies in the area were closed. I had to get a ride and go two cities away to get it filled. After filing a complaint with Walgreens, I was told the pharmacy has no policy to contact patients who are expected to be coming back for a prescription if they mistakenly tell them they have a medication in stock.
I was lucky I was able to get a ride to find it two cities away - but imagine the person who comes back to the Walgreens after all other pharmacy in the area is closed and does not have a way of getting to the other cities, putting their life at risk or having them get a huge medical bill as they would have to find a hospital. It is bad enough that I am chained to the meds to live but even worse was that no one at Walgreens seemed to care! - I guess they care only about money and not that their policies - or lack of it puts customers health and life at risk!
