A 30-year-old Milwaukee man accused of stealing a kayak, tools and other items from a Greenfield home, has been charged with felony burglary. Scott Michael Kasulke admitted to police he pawned some of the items he stole and resold the others. He was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on April 10, with one count of burglary of a building or dwelling, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 12 ½ years of imprisonment and $25,000 in fines, if convicted. According to the criminal complaint, the burglary occurred in the 4100 block of West Barnard Avenue in Greenfield on or about March 16. Peter Cresci, 18, of Milwaukee, is accused of breaking into a Greenfield man's home and taking a safe containing $1,800. During the break-in, the victim told police he was struck with a crowbar and punched repeatedly.
An 18-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with felony burglary after police say he and two others broke into a Greenfield home, struck a man who lived there in the head with a crowbar and stole the man’s safe. Peter Cresci was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on March 14, nine days after the victim identified Cresci and other evidence pointed to him as one of the three men who broke in. DNA samples taken from bloodstains on the wall of a Greenfield accounting office that was burglarized in December have a 53-year-old Milwaukee man facing jail time for the crime. Leander James Esser was charged with felony burglary in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Friday. According to the criminal complaint, Esser broke into Nolan Accounting, 4262 S. 108th St., during the evening hours of Dec. 7 or early morning hours of Dec. 8. He entered the building either through the front glass door he broke or a rear door he damaged. Once inside, Esser took a laptop computer, a computer projector, a stereo system, a typewriter and approximately $220 in cash. A resident in the 4800 block of South 39th Street had a tool chest stolen from his home.
A Greenfield resident in the 4800 block of South 39th Street learned bad guys don’t take the holidays off. According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the man left his house around 1 p.m. Christmas Day only to return a little after 10 p.m. to find police at his home. A neighbor had called police to report the rear entrance of the home was forced open. When the victim walked through the basement with police officers, he discovered a red Craftsman tool chest and tools with an estimated value of $250 was missing. Damage to the door was estimated at $200. No suspects are in custody for the burglary.

A 22-year-old Greenfield man is accused of burglarizing a friend’s Milwaukee home when he knew the victim would be gone. Justin M. Cheske was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 7 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. A 36-year-old South Milwaukee man is accused of burglarizing a Muskego man. The defendant had just been fired from a lawn care company tending to the victim’s yard. Leonard J. Police are still looking for suspects in an office burglary committed earlier this month after tenants reported a large amount of cash, personal checks and a computer hard drive missing. According to the Greenfield Police Department report, police responded to an office building at 2741 W. Layton Ave. after some of its occupants reported their suites has been broken into between 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. Aug. 14. An attorney in the building told police the door to his first-floor office had been kicked in, hard enough that the door knob put a hole in the wall behind the door. A burglary suspect who made off with more than $2,600 worth of cigarettes and $15,000 in scratch-off lottery tickets from a Greenfield gas station July 2 is still on the loose. Wauwatosa police seek charges against a West Allis man who was captured later the same day in the act of a burglary in Greenfield.
A West Allis man is in custody and likely will be charged Friday or Saturday with at least two counts of burglary, one in Greenfield and one in Wauwatosa, and possibly with one count of armed robbery in the Wauwatosa case. Wauwatosa police say the victim has positively identified him as the man who pulled a knife on him when the suspect awakened him during a break-in. Wauwatosa police were able to identify him as a strong suspect within hours, and by nightfall learned that he had been arrested in Greenfield during a burglary investigation there.
