Car-X Now Monro Auto Service Center
Signage at the service center on Layton Avenue changed in the last few weeks, but a deal between automotive service companies was made last summer.
If you've driven near the busy intersection of 76th Street and Layton Avenue in recent days, you may have noticed signs for Monro Auto Service Center have replaced those on the former Car-X building. Back in August, Monro Muffler Brake Inc. purchased 17 corporate-owned Tuffy Muffler and Car-X stores in Wisconsin and South Carolina. Greenfield's Car-X, 7500 W. Layton Ave., was among the 12 Wisconsin Car-X stores included in the deal. The New York-based Monro operates 837 stores in 19 states, and the August deal was the company's first move into Wisconsin.

I will continue taking my older car there for service until they tell me it's time to get a new one. The prices are fair and they seem to care about their customers. more ›
