The boy was dressed in just a long-sleeve pajama shirt and a pair of fleece pajama pants when his mom woke him up and took him outside at 1:15 a.m. Feb. 9.

Greenfield police say a 24-year-old Greenfield mother took her 2-year-old son out in freezing temperatures in nothing more than his pajamas and kept him exposed to the elements for more than three hours. Very unfortunate story to hear about, this is just a bad example of how brutal some parents could treat their children. Glad to hear that the kid was okay and was handed over to his father after what his mother had done to him.   more ›

A man stopped by police for drunken driving is facing far more serious charges, after officers discovered he had left his three young children, including one with severe disabilities, home alone.  According to Greenfield police, an officer stopped a slow-moving purple Jeep Grand Cherokee at 12:51 a.m. July 17. The vehicle was moving between 20 and 25 mph in the 35 mph zone in the 4600 block of West Forest Home Avenue, and was drifting from side to side within the lane. The officer said the driver was looking down at a cell phone as he drove.  After the officer pulled over the Jeep, the 32-year-old driver Ismael Alcaraz-Prado failed field sobriety tests. As they waited for a tow truck to remove the Jeep, Alcaraz-Prado told the officer he …

Why weren't these three children placed into state custody? If the grandmother was local, she should have known the living conditions of her grandchildren and attempted to do something about it. The fact that a four year old child, severely disabled, lying on the floor in filth, feeding tube out, dried tears on his cheeks, and the other two small children left to fend for themselves and care for …   more ›

Franklin Man Allegedly Tries to Punch Greenfield Cop

Suspect tries to run after the officer is going to arrest him, then takes a swing at the cop before being taken to the ground.

A 35-year-old Franklin man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to punch a Greenfield police officer trying to take him into custody. Juan C. Medina was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of resisting an officer. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 23, a Greenfield police officer was investigating a case of child neglect and he went to Medina’s apartment in the 6300 block of South 35th Street because he was a person of interest in the case. While talking to Medina, the officer discovered he had an active arrest warrant pending against him, so he called for backup to take Medina into custody. However, Medina appeared …
