UPDATED: Woman Who Died in Accident on I-43 Near Loomis Road Identified
A 75-year-old woman died in a one-car crash this afternoon on Interstate 43 eastbound at Loomis Road just before 1:30 p.m.
UPDATED: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 A 75-year-old woman died in a one-car crash this afternoon on Interstate 43 eastbound at Loomis Road just before 1:30 p.m., according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Darlene D. Lightfuss' vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. All eastbound lanes were closed for emergency personnel to extract Lightfuss from the vehicle and for detectives to begin the crash scene investigation. According to Greenfield Fire Chief Jon Cohn, the cause of the single-vehicle accident was not known.

I just learned of Darlenes passing and am very saddened by it. Working the elections with her I found her to be an intelligent, lovely person. My mother still drives herself to church and the gocery store. She drives way better than most people on the road. I'd get into a car with her any time. Not so with people I know alot younger. She's 90, so age does not always matter. cin more ›
