Phony Sports 'Journalist' Charged Again

Gary Medrow of Greenfield was charged with telephone harassment and disorderly conduct for trying to get a high school athlete and her friend to participate in a photo shoot.

A 69-year-old Greenfield man with a long history of odd behavior was charged with disorderly conduct for the third time in four months, this time in Waukesha County Court on March 22. According to court documents, Gary Medrow, was charged with disorderly conduct and telephone harassment, stemming from an incident police say happened Nov. 13. On that date, according to the criminal complaint, Medrow called a 16-year-old Arrowhead High School student-athlete, who was on the school’s golf team. Medrow told the student his name was Mike Clark and that he was with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. A Greenfield man previously accused of impersonating a photographer to gain access to high school athletes late last year, is facing additional charges stemming from an incident at his apartment earlier this month. Gary Medrow, 69, who lives in the 5200 block of South Tuckaway Boulevard, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Jan. 22, two days after police responded to a disturbance at his apartment and found a knife stuck in a wall. According to the criminal complaint, the Greenfield Police Department received calls from apartment complex residents, who reported they heard yelling and threats coming from Medrow’s apartment. The 68-year-old Greenfield man faces two telephone harrassment charges as well as two misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges for lying about his identity so that he could photograph two Cedarburg High School athletes.

A man charged with telephone harrassment and disorderly conduct for misleading Ozaukee County teens about his identity so that he could photograph them pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Tuesday. Gary Medrow, a 68-year-old Greenfield man, faces $4,000 in fines and 360 days in prison for the two telephone harrassment charges as well as two misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges in connection with an incident involving two Cedarburg High School female athletes. Medrow, who lives in the 5200 block of South Tuckaway Blvd., is accused of pretending to be a photographer named "Mike Clark" and contacting Cedarburg High School cheerleaders with the intent of taking their photos. Greenfield Man Accused of Impersonating Photojournalist

Gary Medrow was arrested after being accused of trying to take photos of Cedarburg High School cheerleaders under the false pretense that he worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

A 68-year-old Greenfield man with a history of sketchy behavior was arrested Friday by Cedarburg police after being accused of posing as a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel photographer and attempting to take photos of female high school athletes. Gary A. Medrow was charged with two counts of telephone harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct on Friday and turned himself in. Medrow, who lives in the 5200 block of South Tuckaway Blvd., is accused of pretending to be a photographer named “Mike Clark” and contacting Cedarburg High School cheerleaders with the intent of taking their photos. Authorities in as many as four other cities are investigating similar incidents. Last week, Waupun police called the Greenfield police department …
