Golden Guernsey's closing left some local schools scrambling for milk Monday, according to reports. Greenfield and Whitnall schools have milk for their students, superintendents said.
The sudden closing of Golden Guernsey in Waukesha over the weekend has left some school across the state scrambling for milk for the thousands of students who drink it during the school day, according to news outlets. The Greenfield School District, however, made alternate plans and had milk available Monday, as did several Milwaukee-area school districts. "We have worked it out for Greenfield and the co-op we belong to," Superintendent Conrad Farner said Monday morning. "We are getting milk from another distributor and already received our deliveries this morning. I think it's strange that the closed without giving their employees any warning at all. But it's good that most schools got a different brand of milk in time and didn't have to much trouble. Hopefully the employees are able to find new jobs soon.   more ›
