The popular late night eatery's owner forced to close business due to undisclosed health concerns in that village, but five other locations, including Greenfield's remain open.
Don't worry, Greenfield. Your late-night dining options still include Griddlers Cafe. That's not the case, however, in Menomonee Falls. Don Hensiak, co-founder of the now five-restaurant franchise, said Falls Griddlers owner Diane Neavins was forced to close the eatery due to undisclosed health issues. Neavins has operated a George Webb or Griddlers franchise at that location since 1985. “The owner Diane Neavins has decided to shut down that location due primarily to some health issues,” Hensiak said. “It’s a small business that really requires the time and dedication of an owner and operator. She’s been trying really hard, but just hasn’t been able to be there.” Hensiak said he doesn’t have a lot of details at this point about the closure…

Greenfield High School music program will benefit from restaurant's "Music Mondays."
The changeover of six George Webb Restaurants to Griddlers Cafe restaurants last month was quick, and the owners hope to make it up to their customers and the community starting Monday. Every Monday starting Oct. 10, Griddlers Cafe will donate a percentage of its sales made from 2-10 p.m., to a designated local music program, including Greenfield High School's program, which will benefit from the promotion each of the remaining Mondays through Oct. 31. "Part of our mission at Griddlers Cafe is to give back to the community," co-owner Don Hensiak said in a statement. "Our 'Music Mondays' program supports local school music programs that have been hit hard over the years by budget cuts." The Griddlers Cafe at 7510 W. Layton Ave. will donate …

Two Greenfield locations will be known as Griddlers Cafe starting Thursday.
Six George Webb Restaurants, including Greenfield's locations at 4160 S. Loomis Rd. and 7510 W. Layton Ave., will open under the new name Griddlers Cafe on Thursday. Griddlers Cafe, owned by Don and Robb Hensiak, is a 24-hour restaurant serving breakfast all day, as well as hamburgers, grilled and deli-style sandwiches and soups. The former George Webb franchise owners decided to leave the chain after failing to come to an accord over its franchise agreement with the corporation, according to a news release. "We have different ideas about moving forward," said Don Hensiak, whose family has been with George Webb for more than 50 years, 20 of those years as a franchise owner. "Griddlers Cafe is an idea my brother and I have talked about for…

I like Griddler's Cafe better than the George Webb's it was. Indeed the owner's have been able to be a supportive contributor to the Greenfield community since breaking away from the George Webb chain. The menu is same/similar to Webb's. However, owner has made some changes for the better. For instance, the Chili is not watered down. It is meatier, more flavorful, and a lot more healthier. A …   more ›
