It's time for the holidays and all the home decorating, parties and celebrations that come with them. But beware: those fun times for you and your family could cause trouble for your family pet. Potential dangers that are easily overlooked with all the holiday activities and distractions. Dr. Marla Lichtenberger, owner of the Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals in Greenfield, encourages pet owners to take preventive measures that will ensure your furry family members have a happy holiday season without a trip to a veterinary emergency center. Hales Corners Celebrating 10th Anniversary of 'Christmas House'
The historic Lawson House is this year's choice, 10 years after it kicked off the annual tradition. Special events run Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.
The historic Lawson House Bed & Breakfast, 10265 W. Forest Home Ave., is the site of the 2012 Hales Corners Christmas House. Built in 1914, the Prairie-style bungalow was the original “Christmas House” 10 years ago and will once again be the featured home for creative holiday displays by local businesses on Friday, Nov. 30 though Sunday, Dec. 2. Sponsored by Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool and the Hales Corners Historical Society, the “Christmas House” will feature holiday music performed by local musicians and cookie decorating made possible by Pick ‘n Save. Yes - outside the ropes. One year we took a picture looking down on Santa and the child from the 2nd floor - it was one of the best shots we ever got - but you do need a decent optical zoom on your camera. The 7,000 square-foot store offers a variety of popular brands including: Hurley, Rip Curl, Vans, Reef and O’Neill for men, women and children. This Southern California concept will be located on the Lower Lever near Macy’s. The store is located in the lower level at the former Old Navy location. Thanksgiving Food Drive to Support Local Hunger-Relief Programs
For the next two weeks, Greenfield area residents can help local food shelters by dropping off non-perishable food items at Advanced Pain Management.
For the next two weeks, Greenfield area residents can help local food shelters by dropping off non-perishable food items at Advanced Pain Management, 4448 W. Loomis Rd., Suite 202. Proceeds will benefit hunger-relief programs including Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. The food drive has a Thanksgiving theme, as donors are encouraged to bring in Thanksgiving meal ingredients for local families.
