A New Southridge for Black Friday

Shoppers can get into Southridge starting at 11 p.m. Thursday and wait for stores to open at midnight.

After the final piece of turkey is gone, the last snap of football completed and the inevitable food coma that follows that third helping of pumpkin pie, another Thanksgiving comes to an end for families across the nation. But just because the food and football is over doesn’t mean it’s time to let sleep whisk the rest of the day away. In fact, you might want to set an alarm or make sure one of your family members wakes you up from your slumber so you can get out and enjoy another tradition—Black Friday shopping. “There is an excitement,” said Mary Mokwa, manager of Southridge Mall. “Based on the sales trends we’ve seen this year, there’s a buildup to the holiday season and I think people are going to spending more in addition to enjoying …

Clinton Kelly Tells It Like It Is at Macy's Grand Opening

Style guru and co-star of "What Not To Wear" and '"The Chew" entertains and educates crowd on trends and tips for dressing yourself to get what you want in life

It's a bit disconcerting meeting someone who has made his living at critiquing style choices. What could you wear that wouldn't raise an eyebrow, or make him ask, "What was she thinking?" However, Clinton Kelly in person is down to Earth, and is quick to state that, much like journalists who can spot a typo from miles away, he sees fashion mishaps the same way. "I don't judge people on how they've chosen to dress, but I do see mistakes in their choices, and I want to help correct that," he said. A self-admitted flip-flop wearer — a faux pas that he indulges in only within the confines of his own home, of course — Kelly made an appearance at a fashion show to help Macy's at Southridge celebrate its grand opening on Saturday. He said he sees…

Macy's Grand Opening Ceremony Brings Excitement to the Community

Hundreds of people came out for the ribbon cutting ceremony and their chance to win a $500 gift card available to three lucky people among the store's first 500 customers.

A line of customers circled the new Southridge Macy’s on Wednesday morning in anticipation of the Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony. Macy’s celebrated its grand opening by giving the first 500 customers a $10 gift. Three of those customers were surprised with $500 gift cards. Kathy McNally of Greenfield was one of the lucky customers to win a $500 gift card. "I usually shop out at Mayfair but now that we have one at Southridge, it’s closer to home," McNally said. Southridge Macy's Charity Shopping Day last Saturday raised more than $15,000 for about 40 Milwaukee-area Charities. Organizations sold $5 shopping passes and were able to keep all the proceeds.  Greenfield organizations that participated were Glenwood Home and School …

How Will Southridge Development Impact Greenfield?

The city is looking at ways to improve area north of the mall.

With the likes of Red Robin and Applebee's and other businesses, the City of Greenfield is pretty well established just north of Southridge Mall. But with the mall's owners, Simon Property Group Inc., making a major announcement during a press conference Monday at which many expect Simon to announce Macy's as a major anchor tenant, Greenfield city officials are looking into ways to capitalize on the mall's changes. According to the Greenfield NOW, the city has requested the consultation of Graef USA, which has suggested the city redevelop along Edgerton Avenue, the east-west street north of Southridge. Graef's suggestion is to make Edgerton a more pedestrian-friendly "urban" corridor, something Greenfield desperately lacks.  In related …
