Holiday Hours at Shopping Malls

Man Accused of Stealing Credit Cards from Greenfield Grandparents

Augusto A. Gamboa of Milwaukee allegedly helped his friend steal his grandparents' credit cards, then bought an oil change, jewelry and gas.

A 19-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he allegedly helped steal his friend’s grandparent’s credit cards out of their Greenfield home, then used them to buy an oil change, gas and jewelry. Augusto A. Gamboa was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of possession of narcotic drugs. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and $20,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: In January, a Greenfield woman contacted police after she found several of her credit cards were missing and someone had used them on multiple occasions between Dec. 22 and Jan. 3. The woman suspected her grandson in the theft because he was found in her bedroom …

Irony of learning about Steve Jobs death on an iPhone

Jobs helped change and grow the tech world to bring users like myself to be up-to-date on the latest news. Jobs' legacy is integrated into my daily life so much that I barely realized it until today.

When I first heard about Steve Jobs passing away today, it was through my Apple iPhone while I was sitting in an airport. I didn’t have time to dig out what happened to Steve Jobs as I was powering down my iPhone, but I saw one status on Facebook that said “so sad about Steve Jobs.” Fast forward a few hours later and I found myself at the Apple store in Mayfair Mall replacing my iPhone, which wasn’t working so well. You can imagine the chatter around the store. “He was so charismatic,” I overheard an employee tell a customer. The employee described the news as “surreal” to the Apple customer. Jobs, the founder of Apple, clearly left his mark on the world. I’m literally writing this on my Mac and am in the process of redownloading iTunes to…
