Two administrative positions are currently vacant, and three more are expected to be by the end of the school year. With a new superintendent at the helm, district officials are ready to move on filling those spots.
The hiring of Lisa Elliott as the new superintendent should set off a chain reaction of administrative hirings within the Greenfield School District over the next 7-8 weeks. Interim Superintendent David Ewald said the district would now shift its focus to hiring a business manager, principals at Glenwood and Maple Grove elementary schools and two coordinators now that Elliott has agreed to replace Conrad Farner, starting July 1. “(Lisa and I) have talked about it. Melissa Yow is leaving Maple Grove, meaning the school will have its third principal in as many years in 2013-14. The district also learned its data and assessment coordinator is leaving.
Maple Grove Elementary School will have its third principal in as many years after the Greenfield School Board approved the resignation of Melissa Yow on Monday. Yow was hired last June to replace Michelle Weisrock, who was principal for the 2011-12 school year. Yow’s last day will be June 30. “Melissa had done an excellent job for us throughout this school year,” Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Todd Bugnacki wrote in a memo to the School Board. “We are disappointed to see her go; however, under Melissa’s leadership and with the efforts of the Maple Grove staff, parents and students, the building has made great strides moving forward and is in a wonderful position to welcome a new leader who will continue with the …

The Greenfield School Board approved 14 new teacher contracts Monday for three teachers at the high school, two at Glenwood Elementary and nine at Maple Grove.
The Greenfield School District is working feverishly to fill in the many blanks created by this summer’s resignations and retirements. And at Maple Grove Elementary, where several teachers need to be replaced, the district is surrounding new principal Melissa Yow with her former colleagues. Yow has 11 years of teaching experience across all elementary grade levels in both Texas and Waukesha.
