What Are Your Favorite Spots In Milwaukee?

We've got this cool thing down and Milwaukee made MSN's top 10 coolest cities in the midwest, but we could show off our coolness a little more in our photo gallery.

Milwaukee made MSN's list of the top 10 coolest cities in the midwest, but we know there's a lot more cool to be had than just a few photos of SummerFest, the Milwaukee Brewers stadium and the Milwaukee Art Museum. We define cool here because well... it's cold here and we tend to warm up with a beer or two, and hey, cool things just naturally happen. So we wondered if you would upload a few pictures of what defines Milwaukee's coolness. I already added a few of my favorites.

Get rid of barrett, the mayor, get rid of abele, the county exec, change the Milwaukee Common Council, change the County Board (Make them smaller) Keep Sheriff Clarke, build the high-rise where the lake front transit center is. Don't have a trolley line, add more small busses. Cutluraly, I think it's a great city with lots of activities. If you can't find something to do in the Milwaukee area, …   more ›

Lab Retriever Again Tops Most Popular Breed List

But the mighty bulldog pushes its way into the Top 5, as the American Kennel Club releases the annual list that gets everyone talking. Share your photos of your favorite breed!

The American Kennel Club released its annual list of the most popular breeds in America, and for the 22nd year in a row, the Labrador retriever is Number 1. The 2012 Top Ten list had a few shake-ups, as the Yorkshire terrier dropped to sixth place and the bulldog moved into fifth. The golden retriever and beagle also swapped spots between 2011 and 2012. "Bigger breeds are making their move," said AKC Spokesperson Lisa Peterson in a press release. "The popularity of the pint-sized, portable pooch just gave way to a litter of larger breeds in the Top 10. These predictable, durable, steady breeds, like Labs and Goldens, are great with kids and offer the whole family more dog to love. Here is the full list: Here is the AKC's ranking of all 177…

Funny...the company I work for has just recently hired 4 full-time and 2 part-time manufacturing positions. (Making a total of 57 full-timers, with good benefits.) We are also slated to break ground on a 50,000 sq. ft addition in January, and our 2012 sales have increased 16.1% over 2011. (To over $36MM.) 2013 is also expected to be a record year. The CEO and owner of our company brags about …   more ›

Nuitari... there's a guy on Facebook by the name of Benjamin Riche who started an event page about that. I think that's a real fear and quite frankly, I contacted him but he then made some disparaging remark about the Onion being interactive. I tried... but I think you are right. If you have any ideas on who to talk to... I'm listening.   more ›

President Barack Obama: 'Real Change is Hard,' But Worth the Fight

During campaign stop with singer Katy Perry in Milwaukee Saturday that drew an estimated 20,000 people, Obama says: "I am here today because there is more work to do."

With just days to go before what will likely be a close election both in Wisconsin and nationally, thousands of people filled the Delta Center in Milwaukee Saturday afternoon to hear President Barack Obama promise to keep fighting for the middle class. As soon as he took the podium before a crowd estimated at 20,000, Obama promised to get help to the victims of Hurricane Sandy and asked those in attendance to pray and donate to the Red Cross, if they were able to do so. His speech then turned to his campaign theme of “Forward." His primary message was about continuing the policies of his administration to provide a voice for the middle class while also growing and supporting a strong middle class. Thanx JW, from the beginning I was thinking similarly; Healthcare costs are out of control. Who cares if you can afford insurance, if you cannot afford the balance after the insurance paid their share? The cost of care is what needs to be made affordable!   more ›

Been there done that: I take it you are using every ounce of your 99 weeks of unemployment? Any decent employer will not hire someone like you, even at $10-12/ hr. Your best bet is get used to saying,"Would you like fries with that?" Though I doubt you are the type to want to work for a living, what page(s) is your signature on?   more ›
