Special Elections to be Held for County Board Vacancies

Two seats will be up for grabs in April, including the one formerly held by Joe Sanfelippo, who represented part of Greenfield before winning a State Assembly seat in November.

Two vacancies on the Milwaukee County Board will be filled through special elections in April, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced on Monday. The elections will yield replacements for supervisors Joe Sanfelippo and Nikiya Harris, both of whom have resigned their seats after winning spots in the state legislature in November. Sanfelippo’s district included parts of Greenfield. The special elections will be part of the general elections April 2. If needed, primaries will be held on Feb. 19. Anyone interested in running for those seats will have to file nomination papers by 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. Sanfelippo will represent the new 15th Assembly District, which includes parts of New Berlin and West Allis. He had been on the County …
