Bloodstains Lead to Felony Burglary Charges

Leander James Esser was charged with felony burglary in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Friday after police say he broke into Nolan Accounting in December.

DNA samples taken from bloodstains on the wall of a Greenfield accounting office that was burglarized in December have a 53-year-old Milwaukee man facing jail time for the crime. According to the criminal complaint, Esser broke into Nolan Accounting, 4262 S. 108th St., during the evening hours of Dec. 7 or early morning hours of Dec. 8. He entered the building either through the front glass door he broke or a rear door he damaged. Once inside, Esser took a laptop computer, a computer projector, a stereo system, a typewriter and approximately $220 in cash. Burglary Suspect Took Office Equipment, Cash From Accounting Firm

Someone smashed a front entry door and took a laptop, projector and more over the weekend.

A burglary suspect, or suspects, made off with nearly $1,200 in office equipment and cash and coins, and caused $1,000 in damage during a break-in at a Greenfield accounting firm, according to Greenfield police. According to the police report, a someone smashed out a front glass entry door and damaged a steel door at the back of Nolan Accounting, 4262 S. 108th St., sometime between 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and 7:55 a.m. Dec. 8. Once inside, the suspect or suspects appeared to have rummaged through employees’ desks and eventually took a laptop computer, a computer projector, a stereo system and a typewriter, in addition to $220 in cash and coins. As of Monday, Greenfield police did not have any suspects in custody.
