Man Flashes Knife During Retail Theft Attempt, Police Say
An employee saw the knife after he chased a suspect from the store Sunday.
Greenfield police are investigating an incident that began as a retail theft but could have escalated to much more. An employee at Sports Authority, 5070 S. 74th St., reported a man stole items from the store at approximately 4:15 p.m. Jan. 27, and when the employee chased him, the man flashed a knife at him. The man then got into the passenger seat of a silver Oldsmobile, where another man was waiting and drove off. A third suspect, who was in the store at the same time as the man with the knife, left the store on foot.
