Former Greenfield teacher and principal Lisa Elliott and Lynette Zimmer, a superintendent in Illinois, will interview again and also tour the district's facilities Monday evening.
Two of the six superintendent candidates interviewed by the Greenfield School Board last week will have second interviews this evening. According to Dr. Louis Birchbauer, the consultant for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the Board will interview Lisa Elliott and Lynette Zimmer again Monday. Elliott and Zimmer will also receive tours of the district’s facilities before they interview, Birchbauer said. Elliott is the former Greenfield teacher and principal who is the director of curriculum and instruction at Nicolet High School. Zimmer is the Superintendent of Prairie Grove Consolidated District 46 in Illinois. The two candidates are not considered finalists, Birchbauer said. This week, the Greenfield School Board was slated to inteview six candidates for the school district's vacant superintendent position. Those candidates were: A second round of interviews, presumably with only some of the six candidates above, was supposed to be scheduled for next week. Stakeholders discussed what priorities were important to them in potential candidates when they met with the district's search firm Thursday.
The search firm in charge of finding the next Greenfield superintendent is confident the School Board will have strong candidates to choose from, despite the issues the district continues to face. Dr. Louis Birchbauer, the district's superintendent prior to Conrad Farner and now a search services consultant for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, told Board members Thursday the position is an attractive one. "The reputation, the facilities, the desire to work with people and staff, the dedication and community support will help you move forward and find a leader," Birchbauer said. A series of focus group sessions have been scheduled for Feb. 21. Meanwhile, the board has re-shifted its focus to hiring an interim superintendent.
Parents, taxpayers, school staff and officials are invited to participate in focus groups next week, to help decide what the School District of Greenfield should look for in its new superintendent. The meetings are designed to let all stakeholders participate as district officials gather characteristics and qualities desired in the new district administrator, following the resignation of Conrad Farner last month. “It’s very important that we have everyone’s opinion,” School Board president Bruce Bailey said. “We ultimately have to make the decision, but we want everybody’s input. “We want to make sure we get the right person, someone who’s committed to the community and committed to education.” The five group meetings, to be held Feb. 21, …
