Falcons Clinch Title Share, Playoff Berth

Whitnall sneaked out a win over Cudahy on Friday. Meanwhile, Greenfield was shut out by Brown Deer and had its postseason hopes dashed.

A failed two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter helped Whitnall seal a share of its first Woodland Conference title since 2000 on Friday. The Falcons rebounded from a 34-13 loss the previous week to Brown Deer to beat Cudahy, 22-22, at Falcon Field in the annual homecoming game. The win was huge for several reasons. First, is guaranteed the Falcons will be playing in the WIAA postseason after wrapping up the regular season at New Berlin West on Oct. 12. Whitnall improved to 5-2 in league games, assuring themselves a spot in the playoff field. In addition, the victory moved Whitnall to 4-1 in Woodland East games, tying them with Brown Deer atop the final division standings. In the win over Cudahy, Whitnall quarterback Zach Sutton …

Whitnall Homecoming Parade Kicks Off Weekend

The parade Friday afternoon was followed by a pep rally, with the homecoming football game Friday night.

Homecoming for both Greenfield and Whitnall high schools is Friday. Whitnall kicked off its weekend with a parade down 116th Street Friday afternoon. Details on Homecoming Parades, Football Games

Both Greenfield and Whitnall high schools are celebrating homecoming this week. A week of activities culminates with parades and football games Friday and dances Saturday.

It’s homecoming week! Both Greenfield and Whitnall high schools are celebrating the festive time of year with weeklong celebrations that began Monday and culminate with dances Saturday. Sandwiched in between are plenty of school and community activities. On Friday, the annual Greenfield High School homecoming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at 51st Street and Edgerton and proceed to the high school. Following the parade, the varsity Hustlin’ Hawks’ football team will take on the Brown Deer Falcons at 7 p.m., a game Greenfield must win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Capping this year’s homecoming week is the semi-formal dance from 8-11 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are no longer available for sale, according to the GHS …

Whitnall Homecoming Parade in Pictures

The parade was Friday afternoon prior to the school's pep rally and football game.

The Whitnall High School's homecoming courts, the varsity fall sports teams and even School Board president TJ Anderson and Superintendent Lowell Holtz participated in the homecoming parade Friday afternoon. The parade left Hales Corners Elementary School at approximately 1 p.m. and traveled down 116th Street to the high school, where the student body participated in a prep rally. The Friday homecoming festivities were subdued a bit, however, when the varsity football team fell to South Milwaukee, 28-14, to fall to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in the Woodland Conference, according to a story by NOW Newspapers. The Falcons now must win their regular season finale, a 7 p.m. home contest with Pewaukee (5-2, 5-1) Oct. 14, to qualify for the WIAA …
