Are These Greenfield's Five Most Attractive Vacant Buildings?

There are plenty of prime real estate openings in Greenfield, spots with easy access off the interstate or on busy commercial corridors.

When it comes to suburban news, few things are more exciting than when a new business comes to town. And in Greenfield, there are a handful of prime locations just waiting for new tenants. Based almost entirely on location, Greenfield Patch picked these five vacant or partially-vacant buildings as are among the most attractive available spots in Greenfield: The former school and home to the Greenfield School District administrative offices has a location that’s about as visible as it gets; thousands of cars pass by the lot nestled right next to Interstate 894. The Salvation Army recently made an offer to purchase the building and land from the district, which moved out in 2010. The new Pick ‘n Save has been open for more than a year and a …

Maybe the Mayor could put in some more tax exempt churches. Maybe the land on Loomis Rd by the express should be developed into a tax generating reveune like a hotel convention center or the mayor can maybe put in another mattress store   more ›

Xperience Fitness in Greenfield Closed

The fitness center located at 84th Street and Layton Avenue was only there for a few months.

Xperience Fitness, which replaced Cardinal Fitness on 84th Street and Layton Avenue last spring, has closed. A phone call to the fitness center went unanswered during normal business hours, and the gym was closed Monday morning. In addition, two large "for lease" signs are on the property. Last spring, Vertical Fitness Group reached agreements with four Milwaukee-area Cardinal Fitness gyms, including Greenfield's at 8401 W. Layton Ave., and converted 11 Gold's Gyms in Wisconsin and Minnesota to Xperience Fitness gyms. Since spring, a temporary, orange "Xperience Fitness" banner was on the building instead of permanent signage. It is unclear if any other Xperience Fitness locations have closed, but a new gym in Brookfield is expected to …

Cardinal Fitness was clean and the staff very friendly and professional. Xperience took it over and it went down hill. I also cancelled my membership. The location is perfect. Hope another gym opens there.   more ›

Editor's Notebook

Cardinal Fitness Now Xperience Fitness

The popular fitness center on busy Layton Avenue has a new name after reaching an agreement with a new owner.

Xperience Fitness, owned by the Appleton-based Vertical Fitness Group, has replaced Cardinal Fitness. Not really breaking news, right? The huge orange banner is kind of a dead giveaway. I admit, I'm definitely late to this party. The announcement that Vertical Fitness Group has reached agreements with four Milwaukee-area Cardinal Fitness gyms, including Greenfield's at 8401 W. Layton Ave., and is converting 11 Gold's Gyms in Wisconsin and Minnesota, making all 15 Xperience Fitness locations, was made more than a month ago. But hey, I just noticed the Xperience banner that covers the center's Cardinal Fitness signage on the north side of the building this week. Better late than never. Right?
