Hey Hoffa,
Totally get what you are saying. I see both sides. And I think the question is valid, which was why I was trying to find the answer on this one. I know that one of the cops from Caledonia has some family connections to All Sports and it tends to be frequented by people who are more blue collar types. So, I'm not sure they thought this one through entirely. I just know I'm not getting return phone calls from either the former cop or the owners. If you know of someone I should be talking to, I'm open to suggestions. Right now, it's a he said/she said situation and I kinda feel like the mom whose kids are tattling on one another. Quite frankly, I felt like the Gifford story is the same thing... I told Bill Folk that it seemed like people were forgetting themselves and he said, "You know, that's a good way to put it." I actually have the email and photo from the fellow involved from the All Sports incident (without his name), which Bill forwarded to me. In that email the man admits to having gone too far. I'm really tired of these stories too, which tells me that you guys are probably tired of reading them too. Please let me know if there are stories you'd like to read. I'm open to suggestions. -- Denise

Denise,

Thanks for trying. I understand the putting two and two together argument, however, patronage is something few businesses would ever turn down - especially over something like political alliances. Solicitation, on the other hand, can have negative business consequences - especially with all of the threatened public boycotts by the public sector unions that were made and enacted upon earlier this year. So I'm not quite convinced that we're dealing with two and two here, but more like apples and oranges.

In any case, I'm so sick of and fed up with this recall hysteria that I honestly don't even care anymore, so if you were only trying to follow up at this point for my satisfaction, I appreciate the efforts, but the situation has changed and I now feel the whole thing as being quite irrelevant. Call it an evolution of Hoffa's stance regarding the entire issue.

Again, I appreciate and admire your dedication, so you'll always have a reader in Hoffa!

Take care and see you around the Patch! :-)

Hoffa, yes I'll keep trying. But I've been talking to several people and have been hearing that a number of democratic party fund-raisers are being held at the banquet hall. One was held last night and I believe there's another one being held Saturday. So, putting two and two together -- with the fact that the police weren't called for trespassing (since they were there for a couple of hours) and that there have been parties there, I don't know that I'll get anywhere. But, yes... I'll keep trying.

Hey Denise,

Will you stay on trying to contact Emil Infusino to find out whether or not he gave the Walker recall petitioners permission to solicit for signatures in the All Sports parking lot? Both sides of the biased and partisan aisle have asserted contradictory claims regarding this fact. If we can get an independent confirmation from the source himself, Emil, it would provide credibility to one side’s story over the others. I also think that many of your readers would appreciate the clarification of this issue.

Thanks!

Denise,

Our family has the Caledonia Patch to thank for the latest addition to our household. We saw an adoptable cat featured on your "Pet of the Day". We really connected with his story, and began proceedings to adopt. We brought home our new cat yesterday, and we are all so happy! Please keep this feature alive in the 'Patch'. So many animals are in need of good homes. Ours is an older pet, and he is a wonderful, calm animal.

Denise - Is there a way you can share with me your pictures and raw video from the story last week? I'd love to be able to share it with my class and family. Thanks! Ron

Denise, you may not be aware, but this wind turbine at Unico will be their second. One has already been running and in testing mode for the past six months or so. They're relatively small, so may not be obvious when you drive by.
