Yep, the IRS fiasco is the worst of the bunch. Lerner just took the 5th this morning before Congress. She insisted that she did nothing wrong in her opening statement, then clammed up because she doesn't want to incriminate herself. Something smells like manure here.

Well, if they are not accountable, then why should society be accountable? Could law enforcement actually be a reflection of the society that it patrols? If they go partying down the road at 2 AM, then what right do they have to stop us? Who gives the breathalizer test to who?

ReplyWell, if they intend to lower the acceptable alcohol rate from .08 to .05 while operating a motor vehicle for us, then shouldn't police officers be required to be at 0.0 at all times? I mean, I would hate to be pulled over by a drunken police officer.

ReplyInstead of lowering the measurement of intoxication we should first have a law that requires our lawmakers to have a higher IQ. If this were the case, then this whole issue would have never come up.

When we all start living in cardboard boxes and eating cat food, then the media (corporations) and the government (corporate cronies) will be saying how much the American workforce has improved. Maybe they will even issue us free coupons for more cat food.

ReplyConsider the American cost of living as compared to the so-called emerging markets. Don't listen to the media- the American people are not overly unqualified. We are just naturally too expensive for the corporate elites to consider. Take a look at our trade policy- it certainly is not for our benefit.

@Bob McBride What troubles me even more about the IRS situation is that institution's built-in coercive capabilities. If someone in Washington doesn't like you- boom, the tax man can make your life a living hell for as long as he wants to. Neither the Administration or the Congress seems to know what those clowns are up to. Even the Treasury Department, which oversees the department, seems to be clueless as to what is going on. Now IRS officials are either appearing dumbfounded or uncooperative.
This is sort of convenient.
