Fatal Crash Shuts Down I-894
The interstate was shutdown for several hours Monday morning as law enforcement investigated a semi tracker-trailer versus pickup truck accident. Traffic is now flowing.
A fatal pickup truck versus semi tracker- trailer accident near Beloit Road shutdown I-894 for several hours Monday morning.
The Greenfield Fire Department and Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office responded at 7:15 a.m. after the pickup truck rear-ended the semi tractor-trailer.
Emergency medical personnel attempted rescue the pickup driver while he was trapped in his vehicle, but he succumbed to his injuries. The Milwaukee County medical examiner pronounced him dead at 10:30 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies and multiple municipal fire and police departments responded to close off the freeway and begin life-saving efforts on the pickup driver.
The man's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
All lanes of traffic on I-894 have reopened.
