Man in Critical Condition After Being Shocked Twice

Greenfield emergency personnel make a dramatic rescue, but man remains in critical condition.

A 51-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shocked twice by high voltage power lines in Greenfield on Saturday.

The man, a private contractor, was performing maintenance work on a chimney at a home near 81st Street and Layton Avenue when he came in contact with the lines, according to Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News.

Greenfield Fire and Rescue crews said when they arrived the man was semi-conscious, but still in the basket which was high above the ground. The live wires made it risky for firefighters to get to him.

Fire crews said they grabbed a tarp and spread it underneath the basket because the man was hanging halfway out and about to tumble to the ground, according to WISN.
