Report: Value City Furniture Closing Feb. 8

The furniture store has been on 27th Street since 2005.

A Greenfield furniture on the city’s east side is closing in about a month, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The newspaper’s online blog Shop Talk reported Value City Furniture, 4771 S. 27th St., will close Feb. 9, and that the Greenfield location is the retailer’s only remaining Wisconsin store.

Value City Furniture is adjacent to Target.

According to Greenfield’s Community Development Manager Charles Erickson, Value City Furniture has been in Greenfield since 2005. Going back to 1997, prior to Value City, the building was occupied by grocery stores SuperSaver, Fresh 4 Less and Rainbow Foods.

According to the company’s website, Value City Furniture has operated for more than 60 years and has 128 stores in 19 states.
