Get Out: Arts and Craft Fair at Boerner Botanical Gardens Today

Anxious to get out and enjoy today's great weather?

Head to the Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners for the Art at the Gardens Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You'll find a great mix of unique and handmade art from more than 35 local artists.

The Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens (FBBG) plan to have a busy month of May. Here are some other great events taking place in the coming weeks:

  • Hand-painted rain barrel raffle: There are four barrels decorated by the Girls Scouts of Milwaukee and they will be on display through May 15. Tickets are $5 or $20 for five.
  • Garden Class -- Tips for Trouble-Free Tomatoes, Thursday, May 5: Get the best tips on growing tomatoes. Cost is $10 for FBBG members and $15 for non-members. The class begins at 6:30 p.m.
  • Mother's Day Celebration, Sunday, May 8: Join FBBG for a day of activities including making floral bow magnets or felt rose pins, or enjoying time in the spring planting station and cupcake decorating area, provided by Milwaukee Cupcake Company. The cost is $5 per child and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Garden Class -- Chocolate: History & Tasting, Thursday, May 12:Β Learn a little bit about the history of chocolate, enjoy chocolate tasting, and find out how chocolate is made. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members and the class begins at 6:30 p.m.
  • Melinda Myers Garden Walks Spring Sensations, Wednesday, May 18: Join Myers for a walk through Boerner's beautiful spring gardens and get tips and ideas as to how to brighten up your home gardens and landscape. The walk begins at 6:30 p.m.
