Aurora Offering Flu Shots at Locations Throughout Greenfield

The clinics begin Sept. 30 and run through October.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, as many as 49,000 Americans die from the flu each year and many of those deaths could be prevented with an annual flu vaccine. 

Seasonal flu vaccination clinics administered by the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association will begin Sept. 30 in Greenfield.

The clinics will take place at community locations throughout the area. Cost for a seasonal flu vaccination is $30 when paying by cash or check, and pneumonia shots are $65. Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage Plans and Medicaid are accepted as payment. You must be 9 or older to receive vaccination.

  • Friday, Oct. 7: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at , 7325 W. Forest Home Ave.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 12: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at , 11311 W. Howard Ave.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 19: 3 to 6 p.m. at , 5310 W. Layton Ave., Greenfield
  • Thursday, Oct. 27: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at , 6901 W. Edgerton Ave. 

The Aurora Visiting Nurse Association recommends following common-sense rules of hygiene and health care to avoid getting the flu:

  • Get a flu shot every year.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Discard the tissue immediately.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer often, especially after coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Avoid contact with sick people.
  • Get plenty of sleep.
  • Eat a well-balanced diet.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
  • Participate in physical activity and avoid stress as much as possible.
