Greenfield Police Apprehend Road Rage Suspects

Three teenage suspects are accused of a shooting in West Allis, and one suspect allegedly took off on foot when the Greenfield Police Department pulled the car carrying the suspects over.

Suspects involved in a road rage shooting in West Allis were apprehended by the early Monday morning.

Officer Daniel Humphreys pulled over a vehicle containing three teenagers at approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday, after the vehicle, with significant front end damage, drove past Humphreys at approximately 50 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone on South 35th Street, according to the police report.

Once the car stopped in the 3600 block of West Loomis Road, one suspect, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, fled from the vehicle.

After waiting for backup, Humphreys took the car's remaining occupants, an 18-year-old female and a 14-year-old male, into custody and searched the car to find a small baggie of marijuana, five loaded shotgun shells in a bag of clothing and a casing from a .25 caliber pistol that Humphreys reported as recently fired based on the fresh powder residue at the rim of the case.

Neither suspects claimed to know the fleeing suspect, and the driver, the 18-year-old female, said the front-end damage was the result of hitting a tree.

Greenfield police officers searched a wooded area and residential yards for the third suspect but did not find him. He was later taken into custody without incident by Sergeant Sean Licht and Officer Thomas Roszak at , 4160 West Loomis Road, after restaurant employees called in a tip of a suspicious-looking customer. According to the police report, the suspect had a .25 caliber Raven semi-automatic pistol in his possession.

The West Allis Police Department later informed Greenfield police that the three suspects matched suspects in a road rage shooting in West Allis earlier that evening.

The fleeing suspect was booked by Greenfield police for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. The 14-year-old boy was cited for hindering an officer and a curfew violation and the 18-year-old girl was cited for possession of marijuana and hindering an officer.

The three suspects were later transported to the West Allis Police Department.
