A man, whose age and residence were redacted from the Greenfield Police Department report, was arrested after police say he punched a woman several times in the face and chest.

According to the police report, the man came to a party in the 2800 block of West Bridge Street just before midnight Aug. 22, and unexpectedly began punching the woman.

Another woman at the party knew the man carried a gun in his hip holster and tried to grab it, to prevent him from using it, according to the report. When she did, it fell out of the holster, and the woman picked it up and kept it from its owner.
