Should Greenfield Leave the County's Paramedic Program?

The County Board voted to restore some of the cuts proposed by County Executive Chris Abele, but was it enough to keep the city from looking at other options?

In a story by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel outlining cuts proposed by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele the County Board budget committee is attempting to restore, Greenfield Mayor Michael Neitzke said the committee didn't do enough when it comes to the county's paramedic program.

According to the story, the committee agreed to restore half of the $3 million in subsidies to local paramedic services cut by Abele, but did so while also reworking how that money is distributed to the municipalities that receive aid.

The story stated Greenfield would get $100,000 next year, down from the $230,000 it received this year, under the change approved by the committee, a change Neitzke called unfair for some communities.
