Why It's Important to Give Blood
Greenfield Fire Chief Jon Cohn participated in the YMCA and American Red Cross Battle of the Badges blood drive March 14.
Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave., held a Battle of the Badges blood drive in its youth rec room March 14.
At least three dozen donors gave blood during the 4-hour event, co-hosted by the American Red Cross. The event was billed as a competition between local police and fire departments; donors were asked who they supported more.
Among the donors were Greenfield firefighter Josh Ackerman and Fire Chief Jon Cohn, who told Greenfield Patch why he regularly donates blood.
