Greenfield Favored Mitt Romney

He was a run-away winner over Rick Santorum on a ballot comprised of several other school and county elections.

Mitt Romney’s was believed by many pundits the one that seals the Republican nomination for the former Massachusetts governor.

And his popularity in Greenfield was reflective of that throughout the state.

The presidential hopeful earned 3,068 votes, well ahead of Rick Santorum’s 1,639. Ron Paul was a distant third (425) followed by Newt Gingrich (235).

President Barack Obama was selected by 1,694 voters.

  • Former Greenfield fire chief Russ Spahn . Also earning seats were Cathy Walsh and Len Cich.
  • Eileen Valaitis of Hales Corners and Quin Brunette of Greenfield .
  • Nelson Wesley Phillips, III (2,828 votes) edged Carolina Maria Stark (2,595) among Greenfield voters for Circuit Court Judge Branch 17, while Lindsey Grady (3,110) dominated Hannah C. Dugan (1,890) in the Branch 23 battle. .
  • Scott B. Manske (3,040) was a run-away winner for Milwaukee County Comptroller over Kristie Bunting (2,012) in Greenfield and overall.
  • When Greenfield voters were asked if they support compensating the position of Milwaukee County Supervisor at a level that reflects the position being considered part-time in nature, 5,285 said yes while 1,207 said no.
  • When asked if the size of the County Board be reduced from 18 to nine, 5,670 voters said yes and 890 said no.
