Tattoo Parlor to Leave Mark on Greenfield

The owner of a Wind Lake tattoo and body piercing studio wants to move her operation to Greenfield.

Updated: March 20

The Greenfield Chamber of Commerce will be getting a new neighbor unlike any other in the Edgewood Center on 76th Street.

Melissa Lenz, owner of Madd Tatter Ink, a tattoo and body piercing studio in Wind Lake, received approval to relocate her business to a vacant office in the building, 4818 S. 76th St.

In a letter to the city that accompanied her request for a special use, Lenz said she has been in the tattoo business for five years.

The parlor, as proposed, will be open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m. The 800-square-foot office space would be divided into a main lobby, two offices designated for tattoos, one office for body piercing and a common area.

Lenz's request was approved by the Common Council on Tuesday.

In addition to the Chamber of Commerce office, Edgewood Center is also home to businesses such as Home Care Medical, Tobacco World, Canada Drug, Wisconsin Vision and others. Lenz’s tattoo studio would be in a lower-level office.

Greenfield has at least two other tattoo parlors, including one right down the road from Lenz’s proposed location. Starship Bodyworks is located at 4380 S. 76th St., next to Rogan's Shoes.
