Details on Homecoming Parades, Football Games

Both Greenfield and Whitnall high schools are celebrating homecoming this week. A week of activities culminates with parades and football games Friday and dances Saturday.

It’s homecoming week!

Both Greenfield and Whitnall high schools are celebrating the festive time of year with weeklong celebrations that began Monday and culminate with dances Saturday.

Sandwiched in between are plenty of school and community activities.

On Friday, the annual Greenfield High School homecoming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at 51st Street and Edgerton and proceed to the high school. Following the parade, the varsity Hustlin’ Hawks’ football team will take on the Brown Deer Falcons at 7 p.m., a game Greenfield must win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Capping this year’s homecoming week is the semi-formal dance from 8-11 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are no longer available for sale, according to the GHS website.

What's happening at Whitnall?

Whitnall celebrates its homecoming Friday starting with a parade that leaves Hales Corners Elementary School at 1 p.m. and will arrive at the high school in time for a 2 p.m. pep rally in the gymnasium.

Whitnall’s homecoming game is at 7 p.m. against the Cudahy Packers; the Falcons need a win to remain in contention for a Woodland Conference East title.

Before the game, the homecoming court and floats will be announced and there will be fireworks after the contest.

Saturday’s dance is from 7-10:30 p.m. in the gym; tickets are no longer available.

Remember last year’s homecoming festivities? Greenfield Patch took these photos from the WHS parade and spent time at the GHS parade as well.

Plan on taking great photos from the parades, dances or games? Upload them to this story, and we’ll be sure to feature them on the home page this weekend!

The following was taken from the GHS daily announcements:
Friday will be full of fun and festivity! Following the pep rally, the Powder Puff games will begin! The championship game will be played at 2:30. The GHS Booster Club will be hosting a tailgate following the Powder Puff game. Food will be available for purchase and a few of your favorite staff members will be in a dunk tank ready for a dousing! At 5:30pm the parade will begin on 51st and Edgerton and head towards the school. Make sure to line the streets to show your GHS pride. At 7:00 join the crowd to cheer on the Hawks to victory against the Brown Deer Falcons!

I'm excited for Homecoming here at Whitnall. And hope to see a win against Cudahy, and a playoff run!

I can't wait for homecoming as a Whitnall student. Hopefully we can win against Cudahy and claim conference for the first time in 12 years.

This past homecoming week was the best one in my years at Whitnall. Glad that our football team is in contention for the conference title and playoffs. Also excited for the dance!

I Agree with these fellow students of mine, homecoming week is like no other! And this year Whitnall really gave us something to remember!

Steve, go down to the "village square" burn a blue fist. Or, maybe in front of WAL-MART.

As a producer I have better things to do. Drum circles are the blue fisters circle jerk.
