Take a closer look at this week's city and school meetings.

Not sure what meeting to attend this week?

Here is a quick preview of all the school and city government meetings:

  • The Greenfield School District's Business Administration Committee will discuss and possibly recommend renewing the district's insurance for the 2011-12 school year, and will do the same for the school's lunch fees in a meeting slated for 5:45 p.m. in the Greenfield Administration Center Board Room.
  • Following that committee meeting, the Greenfield School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. The board is expected to discuss and take action on the insurance and lunch fees issues, and the City of Greenfield's Director of Neighborhood Services Rick Sokol will give a Safe Routes to Schools presentation.
  • At the Whitnall School Board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday night at the Whitnall Board/Community Room, the board is expected to approve the Core4 charter school contract and authorize the sale of general obligation promissory notes not to exceed $6,500,000 for the .
  • In city government, Greenfield's Finance and Human Resources committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rm. 100 of City Hall. Among the agenda items are the the 2010 and 2011 budgets and another look at possible consolidation options for some city departments.
  • The Finance and Human Resources committee will also look at the city's residency requirements for the police and fire chiefs, both of whom are currently required to live within city limits while all other police and fire department employees can live outside of Greenfield but within 15 miles of 76th and Layton. The committee is considering recommending a change that would allow the chiefs the same requirement. The timing of the possible amendment is not coincidental; lives in Hales Corners, but within the 15-mile radius.
  • The Board of Public Works is slated to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall's Council Chambers and the Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Rm. 204 of City Hall. Neither agenda, however, had been posted on the city's website as of Sunday evening.
