Whitnall School District Preliminary Budget Talks Nearing

The district is currently transitioning from a full-time business manager to an interim business manager, whose first priority will be to get a preliminary budget set by the end of the month.

At tonight's board meeting, the Whitnall School Board and the school district's administration is expected to discuss the transition period as it replaces business manager Amy Kohl, who left to accept a similar position with the Fox Point-Bayside School District.

The board is expected to approve the hire of interim business manager Douglas Johnson, whose contract will run from June 13 through December 31 and he will be employed for four days per week.

The first priority of the transition is having the interim business manager help establish the district's preliminary 2011-12 budget by the end of the month. At that time, Johnson, assuming his hiring is accepted by the board, will present the preliminary budget to the board for its approval.
