Falcons, Hawks Looking for First Football Wins of Season

Both Whitnall and Greenfield are looking to bounce back from season-opening losses.

The and varsity football teams open the Woodland Conference season with road games Friday evening.

After , 27-10, last Friday, the Hustlin' Hawks (0-1) open at Pewaukee (0-1), the Woodland Conference Blue Division favorite, at 7 p.m. The Pirates lost a nonconference game to Arrowhead, 35-0, Friday, but have won 28 of 32 Woodland contests over the last four seasons.

The teams did not meet last year, but they have met four times since 2006. In those four matchups, Pewaukee is 4-0 and has outscored Greenfield, 155-0.

Whitnall (0-1) opens the league season at 7 p.m. at Cudahy (0-1), at 35-6 loser to South Milwaukee last week.

The Falcons, at the hands of Germantown on Friday, beat Cudahy, 42-21, in the last meeting between the teams back in 2009.
