Greenfield Soccer Team Dips to .500 With Overtime Loss

Hawks can't hold off Waukesha North down the stetch.

Despite taking an early lead, the could not hold off Waukesha North on Friday and suffered a 2-1 overtime loss.

The defeat dropped the Hustlin' Hawks to 2-2-1 in the early goings of the season.

Greenfield took a lead 14 minutes into the match when freshman David Castillo made a nice pass to senior Miguel Lunar on the top left edge of the 18-yard box. Lunar then struck the ball into the goal.

Greenfield coach Steve Larson said Greenfield "broke down the Northstar defense on many occassions but failed to capitalize on golden opporutunites time after time throughout the first half. We had many as well in the second half, but couldn't finish."

North scored 6 minutes into the second half and later won it in overtime.
