Not a Good Night for Whitnall, Greenfield Football Teams

Both teams suffered losses on Friday, hurting the Falcons' chances at winning the league title and the Hawks' chances at earning a playoff berth.

The Whitnall Falcons (4-2, 3-1), in search of their first conference title since 2000, were unable to secure at least a share of the crown when they lost at Brown Deer, 34-13.

With one Woodland East Division game remaining, the Falcons are now tied for first with Brown Deer and South Milwaukee.

Greenfield, meanwhile, in need of two wins in its final three games in order to qualify for the WIAA postseason, suffered a 14-7 loss to South Milwaukee on Friday.

That leaves the Hawks (2-4, 2-2) desperate for victories against both Brown Deer next Friday and Wauwatosa West on Oct. 12.
