Whitnall's Zurowski Helps Gymnastics Team Repeat as State Champs

The Whitnall junior turned in a great performance at the weekend's state meet.

Whitnall junior Lauren Zurowski might not have repeated as the state's individual vault champion, but she made darn sure she and her teammates captured a much larger prize.

Zurowski was instrumental in the Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall co-op's win Saturday at the WIAA Division 1 State Gymnastics Meet in Wisconsin Rapids, helping the team become the ninth D1 .

The co-op tallied a total of 147.648 compared to second-place Burlington's 145.116. Burlington had been dominant all season long and looked poised to knock the Franklin co-op off its throne.
