Possible Child Porn Found on Computer Brought in for Virus Check
A Best Buy employee, and later Greenfield police, found numerous questionable websites in the man's search history, sites they believed potentially could be child pornography.
A 57-year-old man who brought his computer to Best Buy in Greenfield because he wanted the store’s tech team to check on a virus is being investigated for possible possession of child pornography.
According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the man, whose name and address were redacted by the department, brought his computer to Best Buy, 4610 S. 76th St., on July 29, to have the Geek Squad correct a virus issue.
During a virus check, the employee came across questionable websites that he believed were child pornography. Police found as many as five sites that promoted gay sex with young boys, according to the report.

When police went to the man’s residence, he admitted to searching for gay pornography on his roommate’s computer a while ago, but said he did not look for or at child pornography.
Police confiscated the computer and turned it over to a computer forensic analyst, according to the report.
